State CE Requirements
Vermont CE requirements due
Vermont has announced a mandatory LTCI training requirement that applies to all LTCI producers effective March 31, 2010. Producers licensed prior to March 31, 2010 must complete an initial 8-hour course before March 31, 2011. Producers licensed after March 31, 2010 must complete the initial 8-hour course before representing LTCI. Four (4) hours of ongoing training must be completed before March 31st of odd-numbered years beginning in 2013.
The initial training must include two (2) hours of state
specific content including Medicaid. Producers that complete
a course in another state must also take the
Vermont-specific training in a separate 2-hour course.

South Dakota CE requirements due
South Dakota resident producer license renewals open March 1, 2010 and remain open through April 30, 2010. (You will not be able to renew until March 1st.) Licenses not renewed by the April 30, 2010 deadline with be cancelled.

Illinois CE requirements due
Effective January 1, 2010, all Illinois resident producers who will renew on or after January 1, 2010 will be required to complete twenty-four (24) hours of CE. Three (3) of the twenty-four (24) hours must consist of classroom ethics.

39 states have enacted long-term care training requirements.
