Important IAR CE Renewal Reminders
For the 2026 calendar year, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Central Registration Depository (CRD) / Investment Adviser Registration Depository (IARD) systems will go offline starting December 26, 2026, through January 1, 2027
How This Affects Reporting Deadlines
While the official regulatory deadline for individuals to complete their CE is December 31, 2026, the system shutdown significantly alters when credit hours must be submitted by providers
The Risks of Waiting
Because the system will not update in real-time during the final week of the year, waiting until the blackout period to complete credits carries heavy operational risks. If there is an administrative error or a data mismatch, it cannot be corrected before the year-end turnover. This can result in representatives inadvertently slipping into "CE Inactive" status on January 1, which legally bars them from performing or being compensated for any registered activities.
Deadline for Reporting IAR CE
To ensure all credits are fully verified and applied prior to the system freeze, the deadline for reporting Investment Adviser Representative Continuing Education (IAR CE) is Friday, December 18, 2026. Please note that any credits submitted after this date cannot be guaranteed to appear on transcripts by December 31, 2026.
